Dear Friends and Family,
Yesterday we ran the half Marathon in Ottawa. There were 6 Erfles (and honorary Erfles) running: Marina, Rudy, Artemis, Eva, Amile and Sara (Amile's friend). Rudy, as promised, beat Marina even though he managed to fall into a pothole with his still recovering sprained ankle and said his running style definitely suffered after that! Marina had an amazing time of 2hrs and 17minutes for being her first run. She was very motivated by the kindness and encouragement that has been shown to her and to Rudy through all your donations. Although this was Marina's idea and her own project, all of us have been enthusiastically involved and are extremely appreciative of the donations that have been sent to Marina for Parkinson Canada.
I have attached a photo of our group on the way to the race. You would not have wanted to see one of us after the race. After the first 10K it started to rain so by the end we all were completely soaked (and smelly!). Marina would like to send out a thank you of her own to everyone but since she is in school today and I have received a couple of emails already asking how the run went, I thought I would send you a little note myself. Thank you everyone for your support (by the way, it's not too late to send your cheque, a few people have said they wanted to but did not get the time yet). You can send a cheque made out to Parkinson Society Canada to Marina Erfle, 18 Hornell St Pointe Clarie, Qc H9R 3R3. Your support really made this run an amazing experience not only for Marina but also for all of her family.
Thank you so much
Artemis
